Repeat Presciptions

Patients who are on long-term medication can request a repeat issue of their prescription.

Please read the following notes before proceeding.

It is important to make sure you always have enough medication, and to order it in advance to ensure you do not run out.

For planning, please allow for weekends and Public Holiday closure etc, details of which are listed in our News section .

Repeat prescriptions can be requested via this website (more below), or by:

  1. post - please enclose a SAE if you would like the prescription to be returned to your home address
  2. email to mmc@mmc.org.uk
  3. fax to 0131 313 5059
  4. hand in your re-order form at the desk

Please provide full name, address, date of birth and daytime contact telephone number plus details of what you need.

We do not to accept prescription requests by telephone.

Repeat prescriptions for HRT, the Contraceptive Pill, and antibiotics will only be issued after consultation with a doctor or nurse - tel 0131 337 2166 to make an appointment. If you are on long term medication you will be invited for regular review.

The doctor may ask to see you before issuing a repeat prescription for medicines not listed above.

When will your prescription be ready?

Your prescription will be ready for collection at reception after 4.00pm, two full working days after receipt of your request. Remember to allow for weekends and Public Holiday closure etc. If in doubt when to collect, please ring us to confirm.

Some local Pharmacies will collect and hold your prescription for you; please allow three working days for this service and make sure we know that you want it to be delivered, and to which Pharmacy.
